For instance, right now I am working on a French beaded hydrangea arrangement (definitely won't be done before spring), starting a jewelry project, spinning yarn, and finishing a sweater. Seed starting season is also upon me, and I can't wait too much longer to get my seeds started, or the plants will be too small to transplant outside when spring arrives. Fortunately (actually unfortunately), spring is slow to come here in Upstate NY. It can be mid-May before the threat of snow and frost is gone.
The sweater has been coming together since July 2007, when I purchased a sweater's-worth of pretty hand dyed merino wool yarn for a very good price in a small Saranac, NY yarn store. By the time I had chosen a simple cardigan pattern I liked, it was also time to start knitting Christmas gifts. I worked on the sweater intermittently through December, a little more after the holidays, always with the goal of finishing before spring. Now I am to the part that seems to take forever—the last arm. Are human arms really that long? Once knitted, all parts will need to be blocked, shaped and seamed together. I'll post a picture of the progress this weekend. It's not spring yet!
