Loki with a snow beard and brows
We've already had several snowfalls. After a brief thaw early last week, we got truly dumped on. Friday morning I went into work in the AM—no snow. Had to leave at 2:30 pm as roads were reportedly terrible and for the first time in 2 years, the co. encouraged us to leave. Well, I have four wheel drive, but hey, I took the opportunity to leave early on a Friday. After shoveling a foot of snow off the car, I had an uneventful trip home. Barely was able to get in the driveway though. So instead of designing Web pages, I spent the afternoon shoveling. Hmm.

Never got to finish raking the leaves. Instead, here is Larry raking the roof. Don't want another ice dam. The last one ripped off the facia on the back of our house. Sent a tube of ice out of the fallen gutter onto the roof of Larry's Jeep and did $1,000 worth of damage to it. (think Christmas Vacation where the gutter ice goes thru the neighbor's window—well, that really can happen)
We received a total of around 17-20 inches. 4 more expected tonight. So what do you do when you are snowed in and your Christmas shopping is done? Make cookies and sweaters of course!

Knitted sweater I designed myself. It's based on a Berocco crochet pattern. Yarns include a Berocco blue green blend, Seduce gold (silk blend), a purple mohair, and a little sparkly gold. After sewing everything up, I had to add gussets to the arms, they were a bit tight and I hate that! I started designing in June, and as I expected, it's taken a long time to put together. Lots of math involved to come up with a properly sized design. I plan on wearing it to a Christmas Eve party.

Another project: hippie short sleeved sweater. (-: Fairly easy pattern, I've been working on it for about 2 weeks. Currently I'm shaping and blocking the parts. This is made up of Noro silk garden, a silk wool blend, hand dyed in Japan. Loved the colors. Reminds me of the garden in summer ... sigh!
